Heir to the knives of the French Navy, the Îles du Salut knife offers tradition and historic character. A folding knife inspired by the knives of sailors and topmen, in service in every latitude from 1873 to 1939. Its name pays tribute to French Guiana’s Îles du Salut archipelago, where French settlers took refuge from the epidemics of the mainland. Its ergonomic handle in Amourette moucheté, extremely dense, with a fine grain dotted with regular black specks: a hypnotic pattern in a timber heavier than water. Care instructions

To keep your Vert’Tige pieces in perfect condition:

Hand wash only, in clear water with a soft sponge.
Do not leave to soak: prolonged moisture is the enemy of wood and steel. Dry immediately after each use, especially where the blade meets the handle.
Regularly nourish the handle with wax or any plant-based oil to preserve the natural qualities of the French Guiana wood and its resistance to tropical conditions.
